A rare pair of 18th century Chinese black painted cabinets made from traditional construction techniques offering the interior to consist of three sections of shelves and drawers. With all of its original hardware and metal studded feet, the cabinets also depict daily life while also representing the four seasons. The two cabinets utilize common motifs in their designs such as butterflies to represent happiness, peaches to represent long life, and peonies to represent peace.
